MADAME VEUVE POINT POUILLY FUISSE IS PUT INTO BARREL
When the time is right, the cellar master carefully puts the Madame Veuve Point Burgundy wines into barrels. And so our wines are matured for nine months in traditional 228 litre casks made from rigorously selected, fine grained, medium toasted French oak. It is this toasting that that brings out the aromas of the wood which passes to the wine during the ageing process.
Here, the cellar master is putting in barrels the Pouilly-Fuissé – an appellation dear to the heart of Madame Veuve Point as it was here that her own vines were situated, and where she as a woman winemaker produced wines with exceptional care, for which she received the Grand Prix d’Excellence at the Universal Exposition in America in 1904.
