FIRST APPRECIATIONS OF THE 2016 VINTAGE
GREAT WINES OF BURGUNDY MADAME VEUVE POINT
Our oenologists assembled for a tasting of the 2016 vintage of our Madame Veuve Point Great Wines of Burgundy. These are their first impressions:
« 2016 is a vintage all in finesse and elegance with marked typical characteristics. The wines are fresh with a pronounced expression of their terroirs. The Chardonnay delivers intense minerality and the Pinot Noir finesse and purity. They will need less barrel ageing than the rather robust 2015s for a perfect balance between the elegance of these 2016 wines and the expression of the wood.
The regional appellations will be ready to drink within the year, and the noble whites within one to two years. And the reds of these Great Wines of Burgundy are impressive, with excellent cellaring potential.”
